There’s nothing I can say that can say it better than this picture! All the wildly happy faces are those of “The Winning Combination” and their wives. The serious one in the sun glasses is our fantastic driver and the other man with the serious look and the young lady are another couple we met at the boat.

All this information is according to Stewart, the manager of the Red Dog Pub and micro- brewery where the quartet stopped to sample the wares and sing a few songs.

He gratefully supplied us with samples of all their brews and oddly enough, we all picked a different ale. We spent a very pleasant afternoon singing, teaching tags to the cooks, and waiters, and making sure none of the ale was wasted.

If you ever go to New Zealand you must travel to Queenstown and take the Shotover Jet Boat rides. You’ll never forget it. For more information, check out their web site at WWW.SHOTOVERJET.CO.NZ

Queenstown is probably my favorite city from a scenic standpoint, being nestled in an alpine setting, reminiscent of the Swiss Alps, on the shore of Lake Wakatipu. Queenstown only has a relatively small population of permanent residents, about 13,000, but the number of inhabitants swells during the ski season and during the Christmas holidays to around 80,000.
