Fate intervenes like the roll of the dice to guide Dale to
“The Winning Combination”

Dale formed a quartet in high school with his brother and the first song they learned was “Coney Island Baby”. After graduation he joined the Navy and didn’t sing in a quartet for the next 30 years.

After hearing the Whittier Choralaires perform at the Whitwood Mall he was hooked. After joining the chorus and learning the ropes, he joins a quartet with Chuck Ott, Randy Conner, and Johnny Fulco. Later the group acquired bass, Ed Ehrnman, changed its name to “Just Good friends” and sang together for over two years.

After the quartet parted company, Dale sang in another quartet called “Over the Fringe” with “Doc” Richie, Ken Tilman, and Richard Martinez.

However, he missed singing with his best friend, Chuck Ott and formed another quartet called “The Memory Maestroes” with Chuck as baritone, Dave Gunther as tenor, and Al Warner as bass. Al was later replaced by Ken Briggs.

After several years with this quartet, Chuck and Dale decided they would like to expand the quality of their singing and began looking for another bass and tenor.
